Every farm is different. That's the reality of calf rearing in New Zealand — there's no single system that works for everyone, and anyone who tells you otherwise hasn't spent enough time in a calf shed.
The rate on the bag is a guideline — a starting point based on what works for most situations. But your breed, your system, your water quality, your feeding frequency and the age of your calves all play a role in what's right for you.
The three rates below cover the range most New Zealand farmers work within. Use the calculator to get exact water and powder amounts for your chosen rate and feed.

A mid-range rate providing additional nutrition to support steady growth. Popular with farmers pushing for stronger performance without significantly increasing feed costs.
A higher concentration rate for maximum nutrition — typically used for young calves in the first few weeks, or where accelerated growth is the goal. We do not recommend exceeding 150g/L (15% solids).
